Southwest Wyoming is a unique area! As land owners, managers and resource providers in the area, we constantly face society’s changing and controversial attitudes concerning the management of public lands. We must continue to take the lead in nurturing an attitude within our communities on the positive influences and benefits of business and industry in the West.
With that goal in mind, the preceding Southwest Wyoming Resource Rendezvous events have been extremely successful. More than 380 companies, organizations, and individuals have supported the event through contributions in varying amounts. More than 17,100 students/teachers have participated in the sponsored tours and exhibits throughout southwest Wyoming over the past twenty years.
A cross-section of people from mining, oil and gas, timber, agriculture, recreation, education and service related industries in southwest Wyoming are organizing the 12th SOUTHWEST WYOMING RESOURCE RENDEZVOUS. The Rendezvous provides a unique opportunity to educate students, teachers and the public on social, economic and environmental issues. Local communities throughout Wyoming and the world benefit as a result of our ability to maintain, manage, and make use of natural resources. The exposition will be held on April 18th and 19th at the Sweetwater Events Complex.
Working with local leaders, the 12th SOUTHWEST WYOMING RESOURCE RENDEZVOUS will help educators and students understand how industries provide social and economic stability within the community and how all agencies and entities work together to ensure responsible stewardship of the lands. This event will provide educators with future opportunities to incorporate business and industry expertise into their curriculum. Additionally, it will provide a forum for showcasing technological advances, career opportunities, and provide networking among leaders and the community.
